Terms of Service
The short version: Elgon provides market data for informational purposes only. Quotes may be delayed, options and prediction figures are simulated, and nothing here is investment advice. Account connections are read-only. Don't trade on this data.
1. What Elgon is
Elgon ("the Service", operated at elgonrpc.xyz) provides an HTTP API and website that return market data — stock and crypto quotes, instrument search, simulated options chains and prediction-market figures — and an optional read-only view of a linked brokerage account.
2. Not investment advice, not real-time
All data is provided for informational and development purposes only. Stock and crypto quotes are sourced from third-party public endpoints and may be delayed. Options chains and prediction figures are simulated ("sandbox") values and are clearly labelled as such in API responses. Nothing on this Service is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and you must not rely on it to place trades.
3. Account connections are read-only
If you link a brokerage account (e.g. Robinhood), the connection is made through SnapTrade's secure portal. Elgon never receives your brokerage password, holds no trading permissions, and cannot place orders or move funds. The Service only reads balances, positions and history that you authorize.
Elgon is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Robinhood Markets, Inc. or any brokerage.
4. API keys and fair use
Free API keys are rate-limited (currently 60 requests/minute). The shared sandbox key is best-effort and may be throttled. Don't attempt to circumvent rate limits, resell raw data feeds, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. We may revoke keys that abuse the Service.
5. Paid plans
Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a monthly basis. You can cancel any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices are listed on the pricing page.
6. No warranty; limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elgon is not liable for any losses — including trading losses — arising from use of the Service, data inaccuracies, delays, or downtime.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
